Murzuq Oil Services Ltd UK (MOSL) are proud to work in exclusive partnership with The National Oil Corporation Libya (NOC) to recruit for a number of key positions. NOC undertakes exploration and production operation through its own affiliated companies, and has its own fully owned companies which carry out exploration, development and production operations; NOC owns refining, and oil and gas processing companies, operating refineries and also owns national service companies which carry out oil well drilling and work over operations, provide all drilling material and equipment, lay and maintain oil and gas pipelines, build and maintain oil and gas storage tanks and carry out related technical and economic studies. Also affiliated to NOC is a petroleum research centre which carries out research and technical studies related to the oil industry, conducts technical analysis and tests for the various stages of exploration and production of oil and petroleum products, performs quality control tests and issues certificates in this respect.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification : Bachelor Degree Reservoir/Petroleum/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills : 15 years of experience in reservoir engineering including oil and gas fields development management and Full Field simulation studies (use of hardware & software models).

Job Responsibilities

  • Update / Generate reservoir black oil and compositional simulation models with field development planning, short, and long-term profiles and coordinate and work with Geoscientists on reservoir characterization and upscaling.
  • Build independently sizable FF simulation models, history match and use them in predictions.
  • Quality Check consistency of simulation model, history match changes with respect to geological model characteristics.
  • Derive EOS and convert simple black oil models to compositional, Diagnose model convergence and run-time problems.
  • Diagnose model convergence and run-time problems, use models to design of IOR/EOR methods (WI, Immiscible GI, Miscible GI, and Surfactant and polymer injection) to enhance recovery and pressure maintenance methods.
  • Apply different methods of reserves estimation using probabilistic calculations, Mbal, DCA and simulation models sensitivities.
  • Use simulation models to identify required action for maximize recovery/meet current production quotas, design, follow up, QC and analyse reservoir studies e.g. RCA, SCAL and PVT
  • Understand and apply multiphase flow in the reservoir, effective permeability concept and correlations for relative permeability. Integrate pressure and production test results for reservoir simulation and management decisions
  • Contribute to reservoir monitoring program and data gathering with effective cost program to enable collecting necessary data to help best reservoir management and reduce uncertainties.
  • Liaises with contractors conducting the study, analyses and reviews findings and actions study recommendations. Participate in periodic update and validation of database with monthly production/injection data and descriptions to display wells, reservoir and field performance for appropriate distribution.
  • Any other assignment related to the subject work.
  • Supervision:
    Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
    Train and develop the assigned Local staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
  • Budgets:
    Provide input for preparation of the Department/ Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
    Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
  • Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures.
    Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department / Section s work programs in line with Company and International standards.
  • Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.
  • Performance Management:
    Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
  • Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability:
    Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and NOC regulation.
  • Reports:
    Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management
  • Internal Communications & Working Relationships:
    Contact with line Manager/ peers and other employees within the company/Group as required
  • External Communications & Working Relationships:
    Contact with external parties including consultants, third party service providers, and government agencies as required
